A brand-new Sainsbury’s superstore has been unveiled at Selly Oak Shopping Park (21/11) and whilst you’ll get all you expect from the popular supermarket, you’re also in for a whole lot more! In fact, the giant venture has been developed to model the feel of a department store, with a focus on a broader range of activities and facilities, stepping up that dreaded weekly shop experience.

The 67,000sp ft space is an entirely new and experimental venture from the chain, who have hopes of rolling the concept out across the country. So, as well as your standard grocery store, there is an Oasis concession for those in need of a little retail therapy, as well as a supersized beauty and cosmetics section. Tu – the shop’s own clothing brand is also stocked for those eager to know!

Additionally, shoppers can visit Argos and Habitat for all of their house-hold needs, before picking up the essentials for their Sunday roasts.

That, or stop off and sit down for a well-deserved lunch at the dine-in food market, featuring a range of cuisines for you to get your teeth stuck into. Travel the world via the various food stalls featured, including: Little India, Wok Street, Sushi Gourmet, Fresh Kitchen and West Cornwall Pasty Company. Don’t mind if we do! The modern hall will also be a useful additional for those working locally, wanting to pick up lunch in the form of fresh baguettes, sandwiches and salad.

Is there anything this Sainsbury’s can’t do?
