As a result of the pandemic, a week ago, Green Sisters, an allergen-free food producer, who originally specialised in Indian snack products for vegans/ allergen-free diets, (including gluten, wheat and dairy-free) found that their customers were in need now more than ever access to food parcels, due to lack of availability of this type of food if they were subject to isolation as a result of chronic health conditions.
Further, there have been instances reported that food that was allergen-free was scarce in certain regions of the UK, making access for those who must follow allergen-free diets rather difficult. Therefore, Green Sisters started to produce vegan Indian frozen meals, delivering nationwide for people suffering from coeliac disease, vegans and those following allergen-free diets.
Green Sisters announced their new meal range on their social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook. At the same time they also put up a competition allowing the general public to enter with details of somebody that is vulnerable and cared for to be nominated to win a free parcel. During every week in April, a winner will be selected and parcel delivered to them with food supplies that should help them, to show support for the incredible care they are providing, an exceptional service, or acts of kindness from their loved ones who would nominate them, at this particularly challenging time.
