We’re on the quest to find Birmingham’s favourite pet picture!

Animal lovers! We’re celebrating the launch of the Wildlife Photographer of The Year Exhibition with a competition in collaboration with Birmingham Museums!

The world famous Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition is coming to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from Saturday 17th October! To celebrate, we’re holding a competition to find Birmingham’s favourite pet photo in collaboration with Birmingham Museums!

All you have to do to get the chance to win some free tickets to the exhibition, free lunch in the Edwardian Tearooms and more – is to send us your best pet photo!

Send your best pet photos by replying to our original post on Facebook here, or DM us Facebook or Instagram! Don’t forget to tell us a little about your pet that stars in the photo (the pet’s name, age, or a fun thing about them!)

What could you win? 
  • Tickets to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Birmingham exhibition (2 adults and 2 children) for a date of your choice (exhibition runs Saturday 17 October 2020 – Sunday 7 February 2021)
  • The Wildlife Photographer of the Year Catalogue
  • A squirrel monkey cuddly toy inspired by the exhibition
  • Lunch in the Edwardian Tearooms for 4 (lunch in the Edwardian Tearooms is up to the value of £45 on the day of their visit to the exhibition)

Terms and conditions:

  • This competition is a paid partnership between Updates Media and Birmingham Museums.
  • By entering the competition you give us explicit permission to use your entered photograph on all of our social media channels for the duration of the competition.
  • By submitting, you assure us that the image is original and is of your own pet.
  • Please use the highest quality picture you can!
  • This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
  • You can only enter the competition with one image, If multiple are sent, the very first in the order of sending will be the image that is counted as your entry.
  • All entries must be sent in by the deadline date ( 7:00pm, Sunday 11th October), any entries sent in after this will not be counted.
  • Once all entries are received, they will be sorted, with eight images chosen at random – these will go forward to the qualifying rounds. Each qualifying round will consist of two of the randomly chosen images, which will then be voted on by the Birmingham Updates audience to choose which is the best picture. The image chosen as the winner of the qualifying round will then go on to the semi finals. The winner of the semi finals will then go on to win the competition prize.

The Qualifying Round dates are:

  • Monday 12th October
  • Wednesday 14th October
  • Friday 16th October
  • Monday 19th October

The Semi-Final Round dates are:

  • Tuesday 20th October
  • Thursday 22nd October

The Final Winner will be announced on:

  • Friday 23rd October

At the end of the competition, with the winner announced on our Facebook and Instagram feeds on Friday 23rd October as voted for by the Birmingham Updates audience.
