West Midlands Police Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Lozells yesterday afternoon (17/11).
Officers found a man in his 20s with serious injuries on Lozells Street at just before 3.30pm.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was sadly confirmed dead before arriving at hospital.
Firearms officers later stopped a car on Alum Rock Road and a 27-year-old man, who is understood to be known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
A section of Lozells Street was cordoned off to enable officers to carry out enquiries.
Detective Inspector Nick Barnes, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “A man has sadly lost his life at the hands of a knife and we are now working to establish exactly why this happened.
“Although a man has been arrested I would urge anyone with information which can help our enquiries to contact us.”
