Emergency services were called to Hill Street, near New Street Station, at around 5PM on Wednesday afternoon (10/08), to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a bicycle.
On arrival, crews found a woman, believed to be in her 50s, who had suffered a serious head injury along with possible back and pelvic injuries.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The woman was immobilised before being taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“The cyclist was unhurt.”
The area was cordoned off whilst officers investigated the incident.
