A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man found with a gunshot wound at a house in Erdington.
Emergency services were called to an address in Parkhouse Drive, at around 10PM on Friday (02/03), after a man, aged 31, was found critically injured.
Firearms officers deployed to the scene provided emergency first aid before he was transferred to hospital; he was placed on a life support machine but pronounced dead at 6pm on Saturday.
A man, aged 30 and a 17-year-old male were arrested in Parkhouse Drive in connection with the man’s death and remain in police custody for questioning.
Two properties in the street were sealed off to allow police specialists to search the house and for a full forensic examination.
Detective Chief Inspector Edward Foster from West Midlands Police’s Homicide Unit, said: “We are conducting house-to-house enquiries and have already spoken to several potentially key witnesses.
“But we’d ask anyone who’s not yet spoken to us – who lives nearby, was in the area or has information about what happened – to get in touch as they could have seen or heard something important.”
