Detective launches appeal following a fatal collision in Winson Green.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the West Midlands Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, has launched an appeal for information after a man died following a collision in Winson Green on Friday night (29/06).

Emergency services were called to All Saints Street, at around 7:30PM, after a car hit a wall.

A man, aged 26, who was driving the Mercedes was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger, aged 25, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains today (30/06).

The road was closed for a number of hours while the scene was made safe.

Detective Sergeant Hughes, said: “A man has sadly lost his life and our thoughts are with his family as we have specialist officers supporting them at this difficult time.

“This collision has also left another man with serious injuries and we continue to offer help to his family.

“We are determined to establish what has happened and I would ask for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log number 2479 of 29 June.
