Earlier this year members of the public decided to protest by sending their Walkers Crisps packet back to the company’s headquarters, in a bid to make them more environmentally aware.
The Leicester based snacks giant faced heavy criticism from consumers who are unhappy with the amount of litter the crisps packets produce.
In response, Walkers state they are aiming to ensure all of their packaging is recyclable, decomposable or biodegradable by 2025. However, in the meantime have partnered with TerraCycle to make it much easier for people to dispose of their packets in the most environmentally friendly way currently available.
The scheme, which launches on Monday (17/12) will see collection points across the UK being introduced. Offering a free courier service to those who live too far from a recycling spot, providing a point for drop off for those who are eager to recycle their rubbish.
