One week left to join Pinocchio in the Land of Toys at The Old Rep

-

There is just one more week for audiences to join Pinocchio in the Land of Toys at The Old Rep for the hit show produced by Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA). Some tickets are still available for this seasonal treat via www.oldreptheatre.co.uk

This brand-new adaptation of Pinocchio for The Old Rep stage by playwright Toby Hulse is based on the original story which written in 1881 is now 137 years old and the second most translated book in the world (after the bible), translated into over 260 languages.

The show opened on 23 November and by the end of the run will have hosted 65 performances – including 2 BSL shows and 1 relaxed performance, featuring over 300 costume pieces and has turned blue into the colour of magic thanks to the Blue Fairy. The Old Rep has welcomed over 5300 school children and the Learning and Participation team have delivered Pinocchio related workshops with approx. 850 of these children in their schools.

The theatre has sold 1706 tubs of ice cream and 546 hot drinks and brought a bit of seasonal magic to all who have visited.

Gaynor Cheshire, CEO/Executive Principal The BOA Group said: “The Old Rep has been a magical place to spend time in the run up to Christmas and the feedback from the audience – young and old – has been wonderful. The show has felt like a real family affair, from the cast and creative team through to the schools and families who have chosen to start the Christmas season with us. Congratulations to the whole team and a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to our audience.”
