From Friday 1st September 2017, Barclaycard Arena in the heart of the city centre will be renamed Arena Birmingham, following Barclays PLC decision to move away from the long-term naming rights deal.

A spokesperson from the NEC Group, which owns the venue, said: “Barclaycard deciding to move away from the long-term naming rights for the Barclaycard Arena has nothing to do with the sponsorship or venue performance, and everything to do with their future strategy and changes within Barclays PLC which you may have seen in the news recently. The Barclaycard Arena has been a resounding success since we launched with Michael Bublé back in 2014 following our massive redevelopment.

Like many famous favourites (think Opal Fruits to Starburst, WWF to WWE, Marathon to Snickers, Puff Daddy to P Diddy to Diddy, and let’s not even mention Prince!) we’re constantly evolving in order to bring you the best in world-class entertainment and we can’t wait to see what Arena Birmingham brings!”

Any tickets you have been sent from The Ticket Factory or another STAR recommended ticket agent which states ‘Barclaycard Arena’ will still be valid.
