Located just a few miles away from the centre of Birmingham, Penelope Designs offers a range of Drawing and Painting and Textiles workshops in her custom-built studio. Learn expressive drawing techniques and mark-making using pencil/pen and painting in acrylics while looking at still life objects, or create your own textiles using repeated patterns through experimentation using stencils, block-printing, hand-painting and dyeing on small fabric samples. Workshops are available for either morning or full-day sessions, with all materials provided.

2Make Your Own Rings at The Quarterworkshop
With a range of evening and weekend classes available in Jewellery and Silver making at The Quarterworkshop, learn how to craft your own rings (including wedding rings), earrings, bangles or keyrings in their fully equipped workshop in the heart of the historic Jewellery Quarter. Suitable for complete beginners and those who have some previous experience, learn the basics of shaping the metal, heating, soldering, filing and creating a finish on your very own handmade piece of jewellery!

3Create Your Own Fascinator with Rachel Warrilow
Create your very own fascinator in this one-day workshop at Rachel Warrilow’s home studio in Kings Heath. Learn lots of techniques using sinamay, (available in loads of gorgeous colours), veiling, beads and wire and crinoline, and create roses, lillies, bows & loops, leaves, buttercups and ‘feathers.’ Requests for specific colours can be made seven days in advance.

4Stained Glass with Jamal Rafay
This course is perfect for those who want to learn the art of stained glass in a friendly and relaxed environment. Learn how to lead panels or paint stained glass windows, create a design for stained glass with an introduction to medium, materials, cartooning, glass cutting, glass painting or glass leading in the informal setting of Jamal Rafay’s artist studio! Located in Oldbury, workshops are available from 1-4 days, and specific interests in a particular area of the craft can be tailor-made to assist individual needs. No previous stained glass experience is necessary.

5Brush Lettering with Little Artisan Studio
Little Artisan Studio is hosting an introductory workshop to learn the skills of brush lettering and how to use brush lettering as a writing style. Learn how shapes are created and practice swirls and lines, lower case letters and upper case letters and then develop your brush lettering through the use of water-based inks which can be mixed. Workshops are available to anyone, with the emphasis on having fun, learning a new skill and gaining in confidence.
