Birmingham proudly hosts four universities and one of the largest student populations in the UK. 1Digbeth Dining Club: Every Thursday – Sunday

Located on Lower Trinity Street the multi-award-winning Digbeth Dining Club is now open every Thursday and Friday (4-11pm), Saturday (1-11pm) and Sunday (12-8pm) and has over fifty individual vendors on rotation each week. With its relaxed vibe and no-nonsense attitude, it’s a unique opportunity to experience some of the best street food in the UK.

2Birmingham Heritage Week: 12th – 22nd September

With eleven days of over 200 fascinating events, from exhibitions and walks to open days and workshops, this is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the history, architecture and heritage of Birmingham. The Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival: 14th – 15th September

With immersive theatre and live recreations of Peaky Blinders scenes involving 200 actors, fashion shows, men’s’ grooming and live music inspired by the hit series, the Legitimate Peaky Blinders Festival is a unique opportunity for fans of the show to see the world of Peaky Blinders brought to life. A live Q&A will be held by co-curator and creatore of the hit show – Steven Knight – which will also feature some of the cast.

There will be five live music stages at the festival, with confirmed artists including Primal Scream, Anna Calvi, Slaves, Mike Skinner (DJ Set) and Nadine Shah.

3The Official Birmingham Freshers Moving In Party for Aston and BCU at PRYZM: Sunday 16th September at 10.00pm

The PRYZM Freshers Moving In Party promises to be one of the biggest nights of Birmingham Freshers Week with over 2,500 students and DJ’s playing the absolute best in House, Bass, Chart, Hip Hop, Grime and R&B across their incredible sound systems. Attendees can expect cheap drinks, confetti drops, Co2 cannons, dancers, fire performers and free sweets and lollipops for an amazing introduction to Birmingham nightlife.

4The Birmingham Vintage Kilo Sale: Saturday 21st September

This year, the Vintage Kilo Sale is celebrating their ten-year anniversary of their partnership with Europe’s largest vintage wholesaler – Glass Onion Vintage – and the hugely popular event always has shoppers queueing around the block. Shoppers can expect to rummage through SIX TONNES of clothing and pick from thousands of vintage, retro and branded items from the 1970s to early 2000s. From retro tees, jackets, jumpers and denim to shorts and skirts, all items are sorted into type for easy shopping with an even split between Men’s and Womenswear.

For those who wish to get a whole new wardrobe, clothing is charged by weight at just £15 per kilo. With no minimum spend and pricing as low as 50p an item for individual purchases, there’s no better opportunity to shop affordable clothing in a big way, and payment can be made with cash, card and Apple Pay.

5The UV Neon Rave at PRYZM: Wednesday 25th September at 10.00pm

Dubbed the highlight party of Freshers Week, the UV Neon Rave has sold out for the last seven years in a row. With thousands of free glowsticks, UV Face painting, hundreds of giveaways, laser, UV and strobe shows, student drink prices, Co2 cannons, and some of the top DJ’s around, the Neon Rave is guaranteed to be an unforgettable freshers experience.

6The Freshers Zoo at Popworld: Thursday 26th September at 10.00pm

The Freshers Zoo is an enormous party where attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favourite animals. Anything goes for this fancy-dress event, including facemasks, onesies, costumes, headpieces and make-up, with prizes to be won during the event, and attendees can dance the night away to some of the best Hip Hop, R&B, Commercial, House and Grime.

7Hip Hop and Burgers: Saturday, October 5th at 2.00pm

To celebrate Birmingham’s Burger Month, two of Birmingham’s biggest brands – Brunchin & Hip Hop Brum and Taste & Liquor – are joining up to throw the UK’s first Hip Hop and Burgers Party.

Get ready for global-inspired burgers from some of the UK’s best street-food traders, accompanied by Hip Hop Slushy, 90s East vs West Coast Cocktails, 80’s Retro Arcade Games, Hip Hop Bingo and more in what promises to bring the very best of old and new school hip-hop, great vibes and a heavy sound-system playing out the best in 90s West Coast vs East Coast and UK Hip Hop anthems.

Hip Hop and Burgers will take place at Quantum in Digbeth. Tickets start from £10.00, £12.50 and more at the door. Ticket is for entry only.
