Right now, our heroes in the NHS are working tirelessly for the lives of others, with a nurse tallying up an average of 20,000 steps a day. They’re working harder than ever for us; it’s time we did some work for them.

Supporting the phenomenal work the NHS does and will continue to do, Gymshark is aiming to donate £175,000 to Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity. An amount they have told Gymshark will have a massive impact on buying vital medical equipment and improving the lives of all the patients and families in their care.

“Having watched my Mom work as a nurse at the QE in Birmingham all of my life, I know first-hand how incredibly hardworking they are” said Gymshark Founder Ben Francis. “This is a global situation, that’s well and truly being felt here in the West Midlands. We want to play our part in supporting the NHS by donating what we can to the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity. We admire the tireless work everyone is doing there and will do our utmost to support them, as they support us through this difficult time.”

To help Gymshark reach their target, they’re challenging the people of Birmingham to use the hour of exercise Boris gave them, work up a sweat, then upload their ‘sweaty selfie’ to their Twitter, Instagram or Facebook main feed with the hashtag #NHSSweatySelfie.

For every selfie uploaded Gymshark will donate £5 per person to Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital Charity – which participants can also voluntarily match via a JustGiving page – to contribute towards supporting our NHS heroes.

How to get involved

  1. Get moving, get sweaty, and get a selfie!
  2. Upload your ‘sweaty selfie’ to your Instagram or Facebook feed with #NHSSweatySelfie.
  3. Gymshark will donate £5 for each selfie they receive, which you can voluntarily match here.

Sweat for your heroes; sweat for your nhs
