A motorcyclist has sadly died after a collision in Rubery on Bank Holiday Monday (29/08).
Emergency services were called to Redhill Lane, at around at 2.25PM, reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “On arrival at the scene, crews were told that the man, who had come to rest on the central reservation, had initially collided with a barrier.
One of the Trust’s Patient Transport vehicles had already stopped to offer assistance and together with bystanders were administering CPR on the man.
Ambulance staff took over but unfortunately it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
The driver of the car, man, aged 48, from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving. He was later released on bail until October.
