Six people in Birmingham have got their week off to a winning start and scooped a cash prize of £1,000 each today, all thanks to their postcode.

The Shenley Lane neighbours netted the windfall when B29 4HQ was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery Daily Prize winner on Monday 29th June.
Sending their well wishes to the lucky players was People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson. He said:
“What a great way to start the week – a huge congratulations to our winners in Birmingham today! I hope they can treat themselves to something special with their win.”
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
This draw was promoted by Ramlers, which has received more than £8.8 million in funding to make sure that everyone, everywhere can enjoy walking while also helping to protect the spaces that we love.
Lots of local good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support. The next opportunity for local charities to apply for funding raised by players will be in August.
