The Prime Minister has chosen Dudley to deliver a widely-anticipated speech setting out plans to kick-start the economy nationwide.

Boris Johnson will announce tomorrow on the 30th June, the spending plans for the entire country to aid in economic recovery following the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mr Johnson spoke this morning on the newly formed Times Radio, saying: “What we’re going to be doing in the next few months, is really doubling down on our initial agenda, which was all about investment, if you remember in infrastructure, in education, in technology, to bring the country together. And that’s what I’m going to be talking about tomorrow in Dudley.”
The Midlands is expected to receive a large amount of help from these large investments due to how hard the region has been affected, with it being seconded only to London, the epicentre of the virus in England.
This comes as welcome news after only last week The West Midlands Combined Authority asked for an investment of £3.2 billion to aid in recovery and to prevent mass unemployment as lockdown ends and ‘normality’ slowly returns.
