The biggest Halal Food Festival in Britain will be in Birmingham on Saturday 20th July from 11 am to 9 pm at Digbeth Arena. The festival is a fantastic celebration of halal food from a wide variety of vendors. Not only does the festival have amazing food and drink for you to taste, but there will also be activities for children and a Bake Off Challenge judged by a bake-off contestant!

The food stalls boast a large array of different cuisines from all over the world.

Worldly Wingz offer chicken wings smothered in flavoursome and interesting sauces including Thai Green Curry, Honey Chipotle, Teriyaki, and more.

Suru Fusion Wok & Grill is offering Japanese-style chicken katsu wraps – a twist on the traditional katsu curry in a portable, tasty wrap.

Serengeti Grill offer authentic East African BBQ. They will have Mishkaki, Sekela Chicken, and special East African salad with Tanzanian sauce.

Tahini Kitchen will be making gourmet burgers dripping in sauces and cheese with succulent meat. A burger for the most decadent of foodies.

Makatcha Eats bring the delightful taste of Rendang to the festival. Voted 30th in the top 50 best street food stalls in London by Time Out in 2015 you don’t want to miss trying this taste of Indonesia.

Sharians Jamaican Cuisine is here for all your Caribbean needs. Authentically prepared, classic food from the Caribbean that is sure to whet your appetite.

Chipsy has gourmet loaded-fries with a huge variety of toppings for those of us who like a good finger food.

For the meat lovers there is Meat & Eat, serving a wide array of meats, and rotisserie lamb from Euro Quality Lambs.

Piemezzanae is for all the pie lovers. If you enjoy a traditional dish with an intriguing twist, look no further. They are serving Calzone pies, burger pies, and a Philly steak pie.

Lucknow2London and Dining Eating are both offering Indian street food. With traditional dishes in a street food context, this is sure to warm your bellies.

There will also be sweet treats with Los Churros Amigos serving tasty fried churros and Sweetbox Halal offering your dream sweet shop with all the sweets you can imagine. There are drinks from FAB Coffee co, that will also be offering chai and cakes, and tasty mocktails and milkshakes from Elan Events.

There will also be lots of activities during the festival including a Bake Off event hosted and judged by Ali Imdad (@aliimdadbakes) who appeared on The Great British Bake Off! Ali will be hosting the Bake Off live and will also be selling his own treats on Cocoa by Ali. To enter the competition, complete a form and bring a one-tier cake to be judged on the day. Cakes will be judged on taste, presentation and creativity. There will be three rounds, with two surprise rounds you do not need to prepare for! This event is for 16+ bakers.

There will also be a Hot Wings Challenge! Perfect for the kind of person who has Carolina Reapers for dessert. Prizes will be given to those able to stomach some of the hottest wings around. You know it’s serious when you can’t participate without signed consent! (18+)

There will also be stage events including Q and As with top chefs, and live cooking from Islam Channel’s chef – Zarqa!

This is a family-friendly day and there will be lots of activities for children as well including fairground rides, bouncy castles, and more.  There will be face painting, family seating, and a prayer area.

Tickets are £11 for adults, £5.50 for teens (11-16), and children 10 and under go free!
