Each Spring creators descend upon the city for the Flatpack Festival, treating pass holders to an array of expressive film and performance Shorts, live cinema, animation and music combine to produce a thrilling fest, full of surprises, captivating all with a passion for the arts. This year the 12th event will run between 13th-22 April.

With previous editions renowned for innovation, 2018’s event is likely to follow suit. A wave of new exhibits over multiple venues will not only entertain but push boundaries. A snippet of themes running at this year’s Flatpack include, Optical Sound – boasting cinema for the ears, Colour Box for kids – think smartphone projectors, puppets, VR adventures and more for all the family. Additionally,  Birmingham 68’ which will explore a year pivotal to the Birmingham we see today, through talks, walks and showings.

The ten day extravaganza will be captivating, yet thought provoking. For fans of the arts, history and cultural study, you will not want to miss the event The Independent refers to as ‘the UK’s most creatively curated film festival’.
