The world’s greatest dog show is back as Crufts returns to the NEC this month

-

With over 22,000 dogs competing for the title of Best in Show, incredible displays, competitions and hundreds of trade stands, Crufts is back from Thursday 5th March – Sunday 8th March to showcase everything we love about our canine friends.

Organised by the Kennel Club, there are plenty of things for dog lovers to see and do, including the daily Best in Breed competitions which see the winners advance to the final Best in Show competition on the final day.

The main arena will host the best and most spectacular displays of agility taking place, jam-packed with nail-biting competitions including Kennel Club agility championships, Kennel Club ‘British Open,’ and Kennel Club festival novice agility. Watch the fun, speed and excitement of the major flyball competitions as 16 teams strive to become Crufts’ flyball, or the heelwork to music (HTM) competition as the finalists compete in front of an audience of thousands.

Can’t decide between a Labrador and a Lhasa Apso? The Discover Dogs area will host over 200 breeds of pedigree dog to meet and gain first-hand advice on grooming and training from their knowledgeable owners and breeders.

The annual Friends for Life competition at Crufts celebrates the unique relationship people have with their dogs, the important role man’s best friend plays throughout our lives and the support they give us in the face of adversity. The Friends for Life winner (voted by the public) will be announced on Sunday 8th March at 5.20pm in the main arena. They will receive £5,000 from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust for the dog charity of their choice, with the other finalists receiving £1,000 for their chosen dog charity.

Crufts also hosts the ‘Scruffts’ crossbreed competition, sponsored by James Wellbeloved. While the emphasis is on fun, Scruffts also seeks to stress important messages relating to responsible dog ownership.

  • Thursday 5th March: Toy & Utility
  • Friday 6th March: Gun Dogs
  • Saturday 7th March: Working & Pastoral
  • Sunday 8th March: Terrier & Hound and Best in Show
