Cornel Naida, aged 32, Alin Grijincu, aged 31, and Ancuta Grijincu, aged 25, from Tyseley, have appeared in court charged with conspiring to steal more than £50,000 from tram and railway station ticket machines.
The trio appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court, each charged with one count of conspiracy to steal.
They were arrested at their home address on Monday 17th July as part of an investigation into thefts from more than 70 ticket machines between May 2016 and February 2017 in the Midlands, North West and South East. In addition to money being stolen from the machines, the cost of the damage caused from breaking into them came to around £308,000.
Cornel and Alin were remanded into custody following their appearance, while Ancuta was released on court bail. They are all due to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday (22/08).
