The Clean Kilo opened on Saturday (16/06) at their Digbeth location on Gibb Street, to an extremely enthusiastic crowd wanting to support the zero waste supermarket that prides itself on using as little plastic as possible and invites customers to bring their own reusable containers to fill up on their daily goods.
Weigh your container, fill with your choice of product, scan and re-weigh, and finally pay! It really is as simple as those four steps! So, we urge you get involved in this zero waste movement that our environment is so desperately in need of.
Reusable cartons and paper bags are available at a cost at The Clean Zilo too, so it isn’t the end of the world should you forget your supplies. A mighty range of produce is available with your every-day essentials likely found here. Items including: cakes, fruits, vegetables, eggs, bread, juice, herbs, tea, coffee and cleaning products, amongst many, many more items you and the family use to cook, bake and clean with.
The store is open 7 days a week with a two hour break in the day-time across weekdays. Handy if you are planning a trip after work with Mondays through to Saturday’s being a late finish for the founders.
