West Midlands Police have charged a man in connection with the discovery of three handguns plus hundreds of rounds of ammunition at a family home in Birmingham.
Officers forced entry to the address in Norton Crescent, Bordesley Green, at 6am yesterday (12 May) where 39-year-old Mohammed Sajad was detained.
It’s alleged Sajad was in possession of a .38 Smith & Wesson revolver and two semi-automatic pistols, plus more than 500 bullets.
He has been charged with three counts of possessing illegal firearms and ammunition and is due to appear in Birmingham Magistrates Court today (13 May).
Unemployed Sajad is also accused of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and two counts of child neglect. Our investigation into those matters continue.
A 31-year-old woman was also arrested at the address and has been bailed while enquiries progress.
The arrests – conducted by the Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team alongside Force CID – come during a concerted drive by West Midlands Police targeting people with suspected links to firearms and drugs supply.
